Acting out
As well as working directly with children and young people, I also work with their parents/carers and families to help them understand and respond to their children's needs. In addition, I provide consultations to schools. I work flexibly and adapt my approach to meet the needs of each child or young person, taking into consideration their individual differences and background. I understand the complexities of neurodiversity and how everyday challenges faced by neurodivergent young people can affect their mental health.

My practice is inclusive and neuro-affirming. My experience includes work with Care Experienced Children and Young people (previously Looked After Children), Neurodiversity and Under Fives. I have also been part of an educational outreach team, working with children who demonstrated challenging behaviours and were at risk of exclusion from school.

Prior to training as a child psychotherapist, I was a qualified teacher. Combining my experiences in the classroom and therapy room, I have developed a special interest in working with children of primary school age whose underlying emotional needs are impacting their behaviour, learning and relationships.
